The story of Alan Turing, an early pioneer in computer science, and his struggle to live authentically while serving his country.

Alan Turing is considered by many to be the father of modern computer science. During the Second World War, he worked at Bletchley Park in England, the center of Britain’s code breaking efforts. It was there that Turing famously cracked the German Enigma code, enabling the Allies to win World War Two. In Hugh Whitemore’s play Breaking the Code, we get to know Alan Turing as a man who clings to his pacifist beliefs while playing a key part in the war effort; a genius who is trusted with national secrets but makes no effort to conceal his own.

Breaking the Code stars Simon Templeman as Alan Turing. With Sheelagh Cullen, Kenneth Danziger, Peter Dennis, Samantha Robson, Ron Miller, W. Morgan Sheppard, and Andre Sogliuzzo. Live sound effects by GiGi Garcia. Recording, editing, and mixing engineer: Raymond Guarna. Our director is Rosalind Ayres.
